Junot Díaz reads from The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao

Just a picture of Junot Díaz for now, because yesterday evening’s reading and talk was a serious act of generosity, and there was just so much good stuff to think about.

As well, Barnes and Noble in Jack London Square is the shittiest place for an author to read, for various reasons, especially when the host for the evening, with gusto, continues to mispronounce both the author’s name and the title of his (Pulitzer Prize winning) book.

More on Junot Díaz’s talk later.

Addendum: Oscar has a great post on Junot Díaz’s reading and talk here.

  1. Good to see that Junot is a proud member of the Brotherhood of the Travelling Guayabera.

This is a bad weekend to be out of town. I can’t believe I missed Junot Diaz and Rigoberto.

  2. I haven’t read the new book yet, but what’s up with the 300+lbs. protagonists? Paul Beatty, Victor Lavalle, and now Junot Diaz.
